Does anyone share with me the feeling that we are being controlled by forces beyond our reach? Just who decides that words used for generations are now to be fiercely forbidden? Should we just ignore the strictures of the control freaks?. Read 1984 by George Orwell. He describes a language called Newspeak in which many ordinary English words are removed from the language so that after a while it is no longer possible to express opinions contrary to that of the rulers. Still that is a matter for you English, here in Wales, thank God we have our own language
