If I remember correctly, the N-word in AR is only used by people lower
down the class system. In the Big Six it is, as has already been
pointed out, Pete who uses it ("Negroes" in the Puffin edition) of
people in Dick's negative; and in Peter Duck it is, I think, only Bill
and possibly Peter Duck himself who use it of Black Jake's crewman Mogandy.
Captain Flint reading it is another matter.
