As a TARS member resident in Toronto, may I welcome you to our company. If you are still around in August why not come to our Corroboree and meet some of us in the flesh.
I would be interested in how you come to be writing about Arthur Ransome at the U of T.

Your first quote is from Chapter XXIV Grave News from Houseboat Bay, page 278 of my Cape hardback edition.

I can't find the second quote in Swallows and Amazons, it sounds more like something someone would have written in a review or discussion of the book and characters. Perhaps the closest is the last page of Chapter XXIII Taking Breath where Susan remarks "How you do romance," and John says "You were asleep and dreaming,". Most of the time Titty is the imaginative and sensitive one but those traits are shown by her actions and inner thought, not by remarks or comments of others or by the author's direct statement.
