Some years ago a television compere here in Melbourne nearly got himself seriously injured on prime-time TV. It was during the TV awards function, and Muhammed Ali had been invited to be a presenter of awards. The compere, in response to something the Ali had said, said "I like the boy!" Well, Ali's fist balled, his arm went back and he was restrained by others before he could flatten the compere. A boy in Australia is a young male; nothing more than that. It evidently has serious connotations for African Americans.
