In 1990 (message 5243) I pointed out that the forenames of the author Mrs F. D. Hemans (1793-1835) were Felicia Dorothea (gee, another Dorothea); ie she was F. D. Hemans not F. E. Hemans.
Popular for her liberalism and piety, she wrote to support her five sons after her Army Captain husband left her.
Author of “Casabianca”, and “The Stately Homes of England”
(not as sung by Noël Coward). Must look her/her works up again.
