Someone did an excellent 'expose' about this several years ago. (It is in a TARS publication - MIXED MOSS, DESPATCHES, SIGNALS - but I forget which one.) In the article the author actually charted the voyage of the Sea Bear from Scrubber's Cove, around the Head to the port where Pterodactyl was anchored, and back again by using the clues in GN. Essentially, AR gave the secret away in GN. When I get home, I'll search for the publication reference: But, I expect some alert navigator or geographer will have provided the information by then.
Have a good trip.
