It seemed to me on a recent re-read that the distance from Wild Cat/Horseshoe Cove to Beckfoot shrinks significantly from S&A to SD. In the latter Captain Flint seems to be able to row from Beckfoot to Horseshoe Cove, work on the mast, and get back in good time to keep the GA happy, whereas in S&A when the Swallows sail north it seems much further.
