The problem is that very rarely (if ever - perhaps only in WDMTGTS)does AR narrate from Susan's point of view, so that all our opinions of her are based on her actions and words, not her thoughts. Titty in particular we know because we are given the insight into her thoughts, also Dorothea and sometimes John.

Susan not only takes her full part in all the Swallows' adventures but is often involved in things off-stage - such as where she goes with John & the Amazons to scout out High Tops in PP, and we do not know exactly what she gets up to in those passages. So fair play to the poor girl ! I wouldn't have minded a sister who joined in with my adventures the way Susan does with John's.
