Spell checkers.... as I keep informing my students, it is not difficult (in the programs I know) to change the language used by a spell checker. I set mine for Canadian Engish as default, and US or UK if writing for publishers in those countries.
In Word Perfect simply go into Tools, Language.
Don't think you could set it for Lake District dialect, though.
