This is becoming a favourite topic of mine [therefore I am breaking my own NONONONO!!! rules]. Nancy was, in Imaginary Conversation II paired off with Tom Dudgeon. I think Timothy is a much better idea, now that it has been pointed out to me. Dick and Titty is an obvious one, cf very last scene in GN and the "I know what she"s doing" scene in PP [where Dick and Titty watch nancy trying to dowse]. Dorothea might go for Tom, and I am certain Colonel T. Jolys, DSO, VC and bar has a certain fearful admiration for Maria Turner, even if itis not returned.
