Seven years ago we had some land cleared just outside Vancouver so we
could have our house built. I was fascinated to see that the tree-feller
was wearing a white shirt and a tie. This is in western Canada where
ties have gone the way of skirts and dresses for women. Of course, office
workers still dress properly, but your chances of seeing a man wearing
a tie or a woman in a skirt for Saturday shopping are practically zilch.
Every year the amount of skin people contrive to show in summer is
increasing at such a rate that I often wonder how long it will be until
the ultimate goal of complete nudity is attained. This is flagrantly
off-topic, so let's return to the question of Roger's collar stud.
