I hope that any contributors to this thread who feel their work has
been stolen, or their views misrepresented, by journalists, will not let
it rest but will complain to the newspapers concerned, either by a
letter to the editor intended for publication, or by a letter to the
"Readers' Editor" (a channel for corrections and complaints which both
the Guardian and the Observer provide).

Incidentally one or two of the early messages in this thread seemed to
show some confusion between the Guardian and the Observer, so for non-UK
readers I'll explain. The Guardian (formerly Manchester Guardian)
publishes on Mondays to Saturdays, the Observer on Sundays. Until a few
years ago they were entirely separate organisations, but they are currently
owned by the same company, and though they have mostly separate staffs
they seem to share some resources. In particular they are both accessible
via the Guardian Unlimited website. Unless I've misssed something, only
the Observer has carried a recent article on the subject of AR as a spy.
