I was hoping Robert Dilley would jump in on this one but he probably isn't home from the Toronto Corroboree last Saturday. (He and his family didn't manage the award for Most Furthest Attendees, Captain Dan Lind from Abbotsford BC was the winner).

Anyway, let me assure you that the largest amount of biomass in the Canadian North, exceeding bears, moose and trees, is probably due to mosquitos and other biting insects such as no-see-ums or black flies. People wear nets like beekeepers, long sleeves and long trousers to keep them away even in the heat of summer.
