No, but AR was a bit more helpful. He described Squashy's headgear as 'a soft brown felt hat' (PP p 27). I don't think you can get felt hats in the UK now, in fact I'm not even sure felt is made any more. Maybe 'soft brown felt hat' is the nearest we are going to get.
