Search for "Berlin".

Three occurrances, all in We Didn't Mean To Go To Sea.
All referring to the telegram Ted Walker sent to Pin Mill
on his way home, via Berlin.
===========================================
Chapter 14 P185

"There's a telegram for you, Mrs Walker," said Miss
Powell.
Mother took the orange envelope and tore it open. Inside
was a telegram dated from Berlin the day before. "MRS
WALKER C/O MISS POWELL PIN MILL IPSWICH GETTING
ALONG TED."
"Is it from Daddy?" said Bridget.
"Yes," said Mother. "And he sent it off yesterday.
Bridgie! He must be crossing today. Oh dear, oh dear, I
ought never to have let them go sailing. It's from my
husband, Miss Powell. He was in Berlin yesterday. And
there are all those children of mine afloat with Mr Brading.
===========================================
Chapter 22 P282
"Aren't you going to send her a telegram yourself?" said
Titty.
"Lucky I haven't already," said Daddy. "I sent one
yesterday from Berlin. I meant to send a wireless from the
boat." He wrote another telegram: "WALKER C/O MISS
POWELL PIN MILL IPSWICH ENGLAND SO FAR SO GOOD
TED... She'll see I've got as far as Flushing, and if she makes
enquiries she'll know I've missed today's boat. We're all in a
scrape together, but that's the best I can think of to get us out
of it."
===========================================
Chapter 27 P340
"... You could have
telephoned first thing, and then you could have come back
by bus from Shotley if Mr Brading didn't want to bring his
boat...'"
"But we couldn't," said John. "We really couldn't..."
"We weren't at Shotley at all," said Roger. "Not
yesterday."
"Do you know I had a telegram from Daddy the day after
you left, a telegram from Berlin? He might have been here
yesterday morning. And then yesterday there was a telegram
from Flushing. He must be on his way now. He may even
have arrived already..."
===========================================
Chapter 22 p273
(not a reference to "Berlin", but a reference of where Daddy
had been coming in from.)

... He had come aboard
just as if he had left them only for a few minutes instead of
being away in the China Seas for ages and ages.
===========================================
There seems to be no surprises here. There are no other
references to "Berlin" in these stories.
