Unexpected, thick fogs are still a hazard at sea. Just last month we up-anchored in Fowey, couldn't see much of Fowey or Polruan, saw none of the approach marks - some were 20 yards away - to Plymouth till we reached the lock gates before the marina entrance. Thank goodness for the GPS-linked nav. system - carefully and slowly we arrived without incident.
