My suggestion that Peter H or anybody might like to compile an index of near misses was simply a way of trying to get into circulation not only mine but other people's articles that have been stuffed into a draw and forgotten, or worse, censored because they didn't toe the line!
Some time ago on this Forum there was a discussion on exactly this topic and if my memory serves me right many of you contributed to it with some scathing comments about the relevant editors.
If it's a non-starter OK, but it was only a suggestion, or are suggestions banned!
