Prue, although the 1953 book you bought uses the same Spurrier map for its dustwrapper it is otherwise a different book. It is smaller than the true first edition and is certainly nowhere near as rare as the 1930 copy. It is, however, a neat little acquisition which is well worth having. 27000 copies of it were printed compared with only 2000 of the 1930 edition. The 1930 price was seven shillings and sixpence, the 1953 "cheap" edition was five shillings.
Australian copies were licensed in 1949.
