I found the exhibition extremely interesting - a pity you missed it. It was great to see the various states/developments of the illustrations in his notebooks, surrounded by related physical objects.

I only managed to get to the last talk, about the maps for the Swallows and Amazons series, which was very interesting. I especially liked Geraint's more technical talk about the (im)practicalities of the mapping described in 'Secret Water'.

It reminded me of when I must have been about 10 years old and my older brother made an alidade and we mapped our garden (which I can only think must have been prompted by him reading 'Secret Water').
