Yes- not surprising really, as the Collingwoods and Lanehead played such a tremendous part in his youthful development. It must have felt to him like a home, and the Collingwoods as a second family.
But the actual house, as he drew it and described it, sounds different. Of course these are novels, so the depictions would be to fit the story, not to be an accurate description of a real house. But AR's method of working does seem to draw on real people and places, freeing him to focus on creating the events. It certainly worked. But I'd be interested to know if there's a 'non-Lanehead' admixture that fits the bill.
