You're welcome, Mike, but maybe I should not have boldly announced that anyone can visit Peel Island. People do, but whether the National Trust approves is unknown. I have just checked with the NT Handbook for 2014 and they don't mention Peel I. It's the same with the NT online information - they sometimes mention that you can see Peel I. from the shore but nowhere do they say you can visit it. In contrast, many other Lake activity websites mention that you can visit the island. I wonder why the NT is so coy? I suspect they don't really want people to land on the island but they don't want to ban them either. There are, unfortunately, occasional reports of damage there.
