When younger I wondered if that "five whole weeks" segued into Great Northern. As a young adult I relegated GN (in my opinion the weakest of the series) to join the fantasy pair (PD and ML). Later, having read the extant bits of Coots in the North, I feel that book was destined to fill the gap.

But it is a delicious line: three boats, all the SADs, and a native-friendly lake without a Great Aunt in sight...
