I don't see what the BBC is so worried about. The 1974 Claude Whatham film used the name 'Titty' - I don't recall mass sniggering. Have things changed so much 40 years later? After all, the recent Swallows & Amazons Musical also used 'Titty', although they blotted their copybook by substituting 'barbarians' for 'natives' (thus missing the double and treble meanings of 'native' in these circumstances).
Why don't the BBC writers implant an explanation of the name 'Titty' into the script early on, and then everyone will know why, and the name will then be accepted?
