Has this been talked about before? Youtube has some colour(!) footage of London in 1927. AR would have been 43 and living in Cumbria, but he'd have visited London on occasion (publishers, Garrick, cricket?).
'Bohemia In London' was published in 1907. There is some B&W footage from nearer that time on Youtube. This includes the horses and carts the Bohemian Ransome would have seen.
More horses and motor-buses in this clip. I really ought to go to bed now. Someone else can have a look to see which of Ransome's haunts specifically mentioned in his books are shown on screen....
