What a nice thing to say about somewhere you have obviously never been. I could possibly make more informed comments about the methods of transport, banking, postal service and a large number of other areas I found in the UK, however slagging off a stranger's country is normally a waste of space, don't you think?
Re; the leaving of property - Neville Shute's book first published in 1950 shows what some people did in the 1920's and 30's whatever the lawmongers might have legislated, and it was my opinion rather than hard facts. The'habit' is what is commonly done, whether irrelevant or not.
