Tom, while we're waiting for one of the locals to chip in, I believe that there's a marina down on the south side of the Red Sea, west of The Wade (ie near Kirby le Soken.) I understand that Swallow Island remains more-or-less the same as when the Swallows surveyed it.

But I also understand that many of the dykes protecting land in the Backwaters, when breached by storms back in the 70s (?) were not repaired. So there's more water and less land there than there was in AR's and MG's time.

Pin Mill is apparently boxed in with modernity. And also there are an awful lot more rotting timber hulls half-buried in the mud there than there were when Secret Water was written.

I daresay IanW will be able to augment and amend this summary when he clocks in.
