Is this Censor Program to which people keep referring an integral element of Tarboard, or is it something native (if I am allowed to use even this word) to our transatlantic friends.

As is rightly said in Baring-Gould's 'The Lure of the Limerick':

"Today not the ACT but the WORD is the test
Of the vulgar, obscene and impure"

There has been objection taken recently among us to some extremely innocent words, including the names of most of the characters in the books! Can't we just grow up and use the great language that Chaucer, Shakespeare and the King James Bible bequeathed to us. All of these call a spade a spade.

Although I personally would not use the word on the sign I doubt whether it would deprave or corrupt (or even surprise) anybody to read or hear it.
