You have to (try anyway) weigh the number of birds killed by impact against the windmills vrs the number killed by continual polution from coal fired or oil fired generators and Chernoble melted nuke mishaps etc. I'm all for this type of project but when a group of farmers in Prince Edward county (jutting south into Lake Ontario) wanted to install such windmills the cottagers cancelled it because they were unsightly and noisy. I guess smog isn't noisy.

I'm moving towards making my own farm a wind and solar haven. We're bird friendly as well.
