I think we have to look further than just mobile phones. Today's S & A would no doubt be texting each other - Susan would forever be jabbing at her mobile, while Roger and Titty would have switched theirs off. Imagine that all the way through Swallowdale! Last night a top American tennis player was interviewed at Wimbledon, and she used 'I was like' for 'I said'. Ugh!!!!
