I would like to say that English to a large extent is about context and the audience one is aimed at.
So the following sentence makes perfect sense to me if I am talking to my 10 year old daughter, who could translate the sentence without thinking:
I was telling the Old Man about climbing the Old Man.
I wonder who can translate that little line correctly into a sentence that is completely unambigious.
As long as the meaning is clear and not offensive to the listener I can not see that it makes that big a difference.
One could of course go to the extreme of creating a new language.
Hang on a minute did AR not do that:
As a matter of fact I always greet a friend with the greeting Drool - Drool after AR. It is a long running joke.
