I went to a beer festival in Ealing Town Hall a couple of weeks ago and it seemed to be a very damp squib. Whether it was the fault of the beer or Ealing is a moot point. Here in Poland they drink neat spirit and tens of thousands of happy beer drinkering enthusiasts attend the annual Shanty Festival in Cracow.

[Beginning of Big Bright Idea!] Peter do you like sea shanties?

This is photo taken in 2000 in Cracow of the legendary English folk singer, Ian Woods, and Jurek Rogacki, the leader of the Polish sea shanty group, Cztery Refy. It is rather how I imagine John and Peter after their 'short discussion'.

Actually the Cztery Refy are rather good and have an enormous repertoire of shanties which they sing in Polish and English. See below.
