Thanks for the link, the original 1910 Trojan car is now owned by the Trojan Museum Trust and is still just about in working order.
A thought on Rattletrap, it has always been assumed that Ransomes Trojan was the earlier type Trojan Utility which does not resemble the pictures of Rattletrap, however if he had the slightly larger Trojan the Three Door built from 1926 onwards then this all changes. The Three door has the doors in the right position, it has the removable vent on the side of the bonnet. It has the strange drop down box below the running board. Also the back of the front seat does stick up above the side of the car as per the picture. As to the wheels by the late 20's Trojan did produce a wire wheel, not fitted as standard on three doors, but I assume Ransomes car was second hand one run in the 30,s so he could well have had wire wheels on it. Also if you ever have the chance to travel in a vintage Trojan car, and if you live near Oxford I can arrange it, Rattle would be the word that comes to mind!! I have contacted Leeds University and Hugh Brogan neither of which know of any such picture or information, I contacted Abbot Hall a year ago who stated they did not have anyone qualified to look at their archives and so no one was permitted to go near them!!! A bit odd, but I have just written again hoping that things may have changed. Any other suggestions of where to look and who to ask would be welcome. David
