Military Men:

There is a wonderful story of British army groups setting up camouflage in the desert in WW2. The trick I believe is to be below the horizon and they have a term for the geographic feature to be below – but be blowed if I can remember it. The ex army guy writing the story said the best camouflaged units were those lead by officers with better dress sense, and that it made a big difference to your visibility.

My grandfather’s brother died in WW2. He was a most unmilitary man from what I have heard. It takes courage to go where you do not feel welcome, obviously your grandfather had courage.
