Granted, map dowsing seems highly unlikely. But then, so do many other things that people achieve. The fact that it is possible for a text message to find its way from a friend in Australia through the air to my phone in my pocket somewhere in London in just a few seconds seems pretty amazing to me, but I know it happens.

Text messages from Australia happen because a lot of people used established science to work out ways to make them happen. That seems a slightly peverse basis on which to argue for something that would probably require a major rewrite of established science.
