OK this is pure AR: and no-one can complain about the centrishness to the story as it occupys a whole chapter in PM.

I have always been of the opinion that a teenager like Nancy is going to have a hard time using a push mower to mow the lawn.

I have always wnodered what sort of grass and who normally mowed the grass? Someone had to do it whilst the girls were at school. I can not see Molly doing it. In making Nancy do it the GA was being a witch.

More than likely the head discharged into the lake - this was common on boats even in the 1970's. Port Stephens in Australia which is about as big as Windermere had several communities discharing raw sewage into the harbour as late as the 1990's. These communities are a lot bigger than the lake communities. It is still a recreational area filled with dolphins. The marine ecology reports I saw said it was ok - diluted. Actually the cows probably cause more discharge and that is hard to treat.
