You should add at least a couple of bicycles to your transport list, Jock. Also a boat house to the inventory of artefacts.
I think "Beckfoot" was still reasonably well off in the 1930's. Transport had been modernised, still employed people to run the house, could afford to hire transport, could employ decorators and people to erect the trellis for roses, afford to send the children away to school, afford to go on health cruises etc.
Probably a top decile family.
However I doubt if Nancy and Peggy were horse owners, girls of their assumed ages are usually firmly "wedded" to their equine companions.
