My brother , wife and two teenage sons lives on a narrow boat - I don't envy him in this weather!
Malcolm Saville features narrowboats in a couple of his Michael and Mary stories - sort of Junior Lone Piners - Young Johnnie Bimbo, London, John Murray, (1956) is one.
