You must start by putting the eggs in cold water. The reason for this is to ensure the eggs are fresh. We were all taught that fresh eggs sink and stale eggs float.
But you must remember to add salt, if any, to the water after testing for freshness. Salty water will cause fresh eggs to float.
Have you tried injecting your alcohol into the egg before you start? Instant egg-nog.
On second thoughts don't as the boiling point of alcohol is well below that of water and it may have evaporated by the time the egg has boiled. However the evaporation stream might eject from the injection hole and you might end up with a "jet propelled" egg in your pan.
Lots of experiments to try!
