I've trawled through some references and I can't find anything pointing to AR wishing his books should be read in order as published. If anything quite the reverse because of the differing stimuli for their conception. Much of his communication with his publishers took place around the 1940's about their reducing his royalties because his books were so successful!!
His boat Lottie Blossom was kept at / sailed from Chichester in the early 1950's. Does it still exist? Joe
