I was a front door man. I liked the way the messages were threaded and colour-coded, the latter feature indicating whether I had read them or not. I also liked the way the colour coding carried over from session to session. Then I taught my browser to erase the history of my WWW wanderings and the colour coding was lost. About this time I started to use the back door more frequently. The back door saved time when going to the kitchen. But the back door is occasionally locked when spring cleaning is in process. At times like this it's useful to know that there's a front door as well.
