The umpire's finger, I'm afraid, AndyB. 'UK' and 'GB' are not synonymous - Northern Ireland is not part of Great Britain, nor Britain, but it is part of the United Kingdom (whether or not it ought to be has been the subject of strife for over 80 years but that's another matter). The inhabitants of NI are 'Irish', not 'British'.

However, this distinction is blurred in areas such as communication. A neat summary is provided by Wikipedia (A Quinan, prop.):
