Gosh, I feel somewhat humbled by your encyclopaedic knowledge re WD (and one presumes the rest of the S&A cannon). You mention a photo he took. Is this by chance the one on their website?

I plan to return to the UK next year and perhaps a visit to se the Pommern might not be out of the question. Certainly I am looking forward to (finally) visiting the lakes district to see for myself the setting for a wonderful series of books that inspired me in a lifetime of outdoor persuits.
