I get the impression from articles I've read that the errors
quoted for DGPS take into account the speed of the user, so
a small boat moving relatively slowly might obtain quite good
accuracy.
Have you actual experience of using either GPS or DGPS for
sailing yourself?
Even if it wouldn't have been too useful for S&A, I'm sure that
the Swallows in WDMTGTS would have been only too happy to
have a GPS receiver on-board; rather useful for SW too.
