The latest "Signals" (just out) tells us that there is to be a new version of "Swallows and Amazons" which will be filmed (naturally enough) around Windermere and Coniston Water.

Now that is interesting - the 1974 film had seemed to be the definitive one but maybe not. It is to be hoped that some of the casting is improved on last time - although it is hard (I would say impossible) to imagine a better Titty than Sophie Neville.

If the film company were to make a little more effort they could pull Peter Jackson's trick and make more than one film at the same time (as he did with the 3 films of "Lord of The Rings"). With a bit of imaginative planning they could make SD at the same time - similar locales and same cast. Possibly even PM (although there are two additional cast members required here and four not required).

And I would hope we get the storm scene this time.
