The casting of the 1974 film varied between almost exactly right to completely wrong.
Sophie Neville and Suzanna Hamilton as Titty and Susan respectively were bang on and to me, Hamilton made Susan a real and believable person instead the obligatory housewifely figure she sometimes seems in the books.
Ronald Fraser was completely wrong for Captain Flint wrong size, wrong age and wrong mannerisms.
The boy who played Roger made him seem like the village idiot who had wandered on to the set.
