This discussion got me thinking in a practical vein.
Tonight, I fancied some buttered/scrambled eggs. I haven't made any since we moved from another house, another kitchen and another cooker, several months ago. I confidently followed my recipe for creamy buttered eggs. They were a disaster. Cooked too fast, got it all wrong. Sure, they tasted almost all right, but they were a disaster.
Hubris, just hubris.
