What I actually said about brainstorming was. Not everybody likes the freedom of expression that a brainstorming session encourages, particularly people comfortable in a traditional hierarchical environment. To get the best from such a session a skilled moderator is employed to discourage the put down comments which can ruin the creativity of the process.

Some brainstorming groups have no need for such role. But brainstorming is only part of a larger whole. Critical analysis is essential, but this is applied using an agreed set of criteria after the initial brainstorming is complete.

Thus it is with TarBoard. You were very quick to knock the Beckfoot Plumbing topic when Ed brought it up But we kept it going and gave it a thread to itself. This thread gave us:

This thread lead directly to the Beckfoot not Beckfoot thread, which in turn lead to the A new Beckfoot discussion started by Claire. This last, for me at any rate, really is pure gold. QED.
