Could the proposed plan of Beckfoot be put in the file section of our companion Yahoo TarBoard group?
In the Amazon Publications book "Jibboooms & Bobstays" available to society members from the TARS bookstall, there is a plan of a proposed Beckfoot interior. Whilst I might query some of the details, I think the plan give a good overall impression of what Beckfoot might be like..
My reaction is that the rooms faced north because that was where the view toward the river was, rather than facing the road.
Beckfoot is a singleton, a house on it's own. It could have been built on the other side of the river to take the benefit of the sun and the view.
I agree that on the South side, as mapped, there is better road access. However if it is a mirror image both the site of the house and road are correct.
Another example of backwards writing is of course the message that Nancy sent to the others about sleeping in the Fram in WH.
Are we really, like Alice, in a looking glass world?
One might speculate that AR was left handed, although photographs of him writing and smoking his pipe would suggest he was right handed. Unless these photographs were printed the wrong way round; but that would be letting the imagination go too far.
