OK Jock, good response and I stand corrected on some things - clearly there is more flexibility on this site than some.
There is a danger of getting off-topic here, but the whole area of Wikis is a difficult issue. For example, once it became established that large numbers of school children were using Wikipedia as an information source people realised that much of what they found was inaccurate (my partner's fourteen year old grandson tells me that at his grammar school messing about with Wikipedia entries is a favourite lunchtime past-time!)
This then leads to the ludicrous situations such as where the ‘other point of view’ of the Nazi Holocaust is put forward (i.e. that of the deniers). Fact and opinion become so blurred that those new to the topic are mislead by lies.
Individuals Websites and blogs are a better idea as we then know that what we are reading is the work of one person, and so can be easily challenged and hopefully altered - but a Wiki is an anonymous group effort, and we all know the joke about the camel: a horse designed by a committee!
