I think Mrs Dixon is a Lake District native, later in WH she talks about ice yachts back in '95 and skating the length of the lake (last page before Ch 17 Nancy sends a picture). Of course she could have left for a few years afterwards. Mind you, she adn Dixon seem to have been married a long time, anyone recall any details?
